1. About LocalTradePros

LocalTradePros is an online discovery platform that helps users find local tradespeople and home service professionals and communicate with them directly.

LocalTradePros is a directory and communication platform only. Unless we explicitly state otherwise, we do not perform background checks, licensing verification, credential verification, insurance verification, quality inspections, or service supervision. We do not provide contracting, booking, payment processing, project management, or guarantee services.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You may use the Platform only if you are legally able to enter into a binding agreement and your use of the Platform is not prohibited by applicable law.

If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep your account information updated.

3. Professional Profiles and Listings

Users who create professional profiles are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and legality of the information they submit, including business names, service descriptions, service areas, contact details, photos, credentials, and any other content displayed on their profile.

By creating a profile on LocalTradePros, you represent and warrant that:

• the information you provide is truthful and not misleading;
• you have the right to offer the services you advertise;
• you will maintain any licences, permits, registrations, or insurance required by law for your work;
• your profile content, images, and claims do not violate any law or third-party rights.

We may edit, refuse, suspend, or remove profiles or content at our discretion, including where we believe content is inaccurate, misleading, unlawful, harmful to users, or inconsistent with these Terms.

4. No Verification, No Endorsement, No Guarantee

LocalTradePros does not endorse, recommend, certify, guarantee, or warrant any professional, customer, listing, message, review, claim, or service outcome unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.

Any decision to contact, hire, engage, or rely on a professional or customer is made solely at your own risk. You are solely responsible for conducting your own due diligence before entering into any arrangement, including checking references, licences, qualifications, insurance, pricing, availability, and suitability.

5. Messaging and User Interactions

The Platform may allow users to send messages and share information. You are solely responsible for your communications, dealings, negotiations, and arrangements with other users.

LocalTradePros is not a party to any contract, agreement, dispute, or transaction between users. We are not responsible for missed appointments, service quality, workmanship, cancellations, delays, property damage, injuries, losses, non-payment, or disputes between users.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• post false, deceptive, or misleading information;
• impersonate another person or business;
• upload unlawful, defamatory, abusive, infringing, or harmful content;
• use the Platform to harass, spam, scam, or exploit others;
• interfere with the Platform’s security, integrity, or operation;
• attempt unauthorized access to accounts, data, or systems;
• collect user information through scraping or automated means without permission;
• use the Platform in violation of applicable laws, regulations, or third-party rights.

7. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit to the Platform, such as profile text, photos, messages, and other materials (“User Content”).

By submitting User Content, you grant LocalTradePros a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, format, adapt, and use that content as reasonably necessary to operate, improve, promote, and provide the Platform.

You are solely responsible for your User Content and confirm that you have all rights necessary to submit it.

8. Intellectual Property

The Platform, including its branding, design, software, text, graphics, logos, and features, is owned by or licensed to LocalTradePros and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Except as expressly permitted by us, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse engineer, or exploit any part of the Platform.

9. Third-Party Links and Services

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party websites, content, policies, or practices. Your use of third-party services is at your own risk.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, LocalTradePros disclaims all warranties, representations, and conditions of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, availability, accuracy, reliability, and security.

We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, accurate, or suitable for your needs, or that any profile, listing, message, or service will be accurate, lawful, safe, or satisfactory.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LocalTradePros and its owners, affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunity, or reputation, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Platform.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LocalTradePros will not be liable for any claim, loss, damage, injury, dispute, or expense arising from or related to:

• any professional or customer listed on the Platform;
• the quality, timing, legality, safety, or outcome of any services;
• communications or arrangements between users;
• unauthorized access to your account or content;
• service interruptions, bugs, malware, or system failures.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LocalTradePros and its owners, affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, demands, actions, proceedings, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or related to:

• your use of the Platform;
• your User Content;
• your breach of these Terms;
• your violation of any law or third-party right;
• any dispute between you and another user.

13. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, created risk for other users, exposed us to liability, or used the Platform in an unlawful or inappropriate manner.

You may stop using the Platform at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including provisions relating to liability, indemnity, intellectual property, disputes, and enforcement.

14. Changes to the Platform and Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time.

We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on this page and update the effective date above. By continuing to use the Platform after updated Terms become effective, you agree to the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.

You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Platform will be brought in the courts located in Alberta, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
